This is a UI screenshot for Lizzyuh - we were chatting about it in /g, but I found I wanted to add more notes than Twitter would allow.
The core of the UI is ElvUI, now standardized on the low resolution setting. I have been going back and forth with different profiles on different computers and I think that’s actually harmful for my muscle memory, as well as my system administration time, because I’ve now been futzing about with these profiles for weeks. There have been a lot of problems and I don’t know if it’s me or ElvUI.
Most of the bars are hidden in combat. Most of the bars are hidden OUT of combat, too, but that’s just me. The main bar (1-12) is my Naga keypad and I’ve gotten used to having it just be a straight line across. The 3x4 grid works really well when you’re learning it, but now I should be able to play this spec with my eyes closed, so it’s less important (and screen space on my laptop is limited.)
The circles in the middle are part of my WeakAuras setup. I only am using 4 so far - a tight orange spinning circle to indicate Immolate is not up, a wider one (pictured) to show that Conflag is available, and a big purple spinning circle to show that Shadowburn is available. That last one has helped my SB usage greatly, since I wouldn’t always know to execute based on the button placement. (SB doesn’t work like Execute or other finishing moves, sadly. It just shows up, it doesn’t flash or scream).
The things I like about ElvUI are definitely the buff tracking, the integrated elements, and the clean look. I like that I don’t have to individually specify which buffs to track, unlike Need To Know (where you have to set EVERYTHING up in advance.) That’s probably the one thing holding me back from trying to recreate all of this in a different UI system, to be honest. Shadow Unit Frames might have this, but …
I *think* I’ve got my profile problems settled now. Will have to try them out a bit more to make sure, but I am hopefully out of the woods with this latest spat between me and ElvUI.
Next up on my UI list - Clique vs Mouseover Macros and better Weak Auras usage.
