It’s not that news works like a drug. It is a drug. And we are addicted to it. News was a legitimate source of trading information over the past 5,000 years. Now, it has become a mass addiction with dire consequences. News consumption is a big global mania. We don’t realize it because everybody around us is caught up in it, just as people in the 13th century didn’t realize how idiotic it was to go on crusades or hunt for witches.
